Chile’s Alessandri & Cía has helped Consorcio Parque Cementerio de Concepción obtain a favourable ruling from the Santiago Court of Appeals in a trademark and unfair competition case over a cemetery concession dating back to 2007.
The Appeals Court’s decision, made on 2 December, enforces a first instance ruling made by Santiago’s 13th Civil Court that found property company Inmobiliaria Parque San Pedro guilty of unfair competition for registering the Parque Concepción trademark and subsequently taking the Consorcio Parque Cementerio de Concepción to court in 2008, demanding the cemetery consortium cease from using the trademark.

Inversiones Pro-Medios Limitada (Publimetro) adquirió del grupo Verdugo el 65% del total de las acciones emitidas por la sociedad SUB TV S.A., con lo cual se convirtió en el único accionista de la misma, la que acto seguido fue transformada en una sociedad por acciones.
SUB TV S.A. es la empresa encargada de operar y explotar el canal de televisión denominado “MetroTV”, ubicado en el Metro de Santiago. Su programación está orientada a informar, educar y entretener al usuario de dicho medio de transporte, informando sobre el acontecer nacional e internacional y transmitiendo reportajes culturales y educativos para tal público.
Lideraron la transacción el socio de Alessandri & Compañía Fernando Jamarne y el asociado Daniel Lorenzini.
Fernando Jarmarne ha comentado a Latin Counsel: ” Con esta adquisición Publimetro se posiciona como el único proveedor de publicidad dinámica en la red subterránea del Metro de Santiago, complementando la venta publicitaria en sus diarios y revistas, los que distribuye gratuitamente en la vía publica para los usuarios de la red y público general.”
